"Gower Southdown Stud"

Gower Southdown Stud has been based on Ivydowns and Southern Pastures bloodlines, giving progeny which are bright, clean headed, and long-bodied. Our foundation Ram has had a successful show career, including wins at Canberra and Sydney Royal. Most of our ewes are the offspring of show winners.

We aim to provide the ideal terminal sire suited to the discerning carcase producer.

Our on-going pasture improvement program has enabled us to produce high weight lambs at weaning time guaranteeing them the best start for their futures.

Our stud is located in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains where the average rainfall is 1500mm per annum. We have found this high country environment well suited to Southdowns. Stock health is rarely an issue and we place minimal reliance on the usual animal health remedies. Our flock is footrot free and rams are tested free of Brucellosis.
